I'll tell you whats good about this one.
After Aaron Bradford ( :manhug: ) had a winge about RAW processor software for his shiny Olympus I downloaded Raw Therapee
This is a first effort. For free program that handles most Camera files It is very powerful and better than the photoshop conversion.It has no automaion or presets so if you are lazy....go back to bed.
Another thing I tried was to duplicate the layer and apply highlights and shadows filter in PS. I set this to an extreme HDR looking result and then blended the file back into a normal PS file with a Nik filter grad blue sky. So quick and easy and I am happy with the result.

Let me know how you get on with the software. I still use Raw Shooter (as recommended by you... I may add), bit it sometimes is too soft for my taste.
I read a test article in a German mag on Raw Therapee the other day and it said that it is supposedly the best RAW conversion software on the market (even over some of the fee-paying ones). It made the highly acclaimed lightroom look very bad in the examples that they showed.
What I can tell right now is that the lines are sharper and your lines are usually quite sharp already.

well its harder to use.. you have to balance each adjustment against the next and the go back and fiddle... raw shooter is easier unless you have very specific requirements.. the jury is still out
