This might be my favorite long-exposure water scene by you. Scenically, this is beautiful - just enough exposure to soften the water surface, but not too long to dilute its effect. What makes the photo to me is two things - first is the graduation of colors against the backlit rock formations (I'm not sure what scale these are...they have the impression of being huge) - and second is the centered triangulation of this composition.

Often I've seen you use wide views with acute angles to lead the viewer to realize how expansive the scene is. Here is an exercise is underlying geometry and by the triangulation, you're letting nature speak for itself - the eye bounces from left to right, down to the bottom-center and back up again. The top of the formations, despite being of different scale and at different depths are aligned. So instead of perceiving depth, the scene flattens a bit, but not to the extent it becomes two-dimensional. Because it's so equally weighted, the viewer is able to partake in beauty all at once instead of progressing down the path of a direct leading line or perspective. Distance and scale becomes relatively unimportant here, it's all about the natural flow of elements.

I rarely see this sort of thing on DA and wish more deviants would learn that visual impact doesn't have to be in-your-face dramatic to be an effective, worthy photograph. It's a great example illustrating that serenity is its own reward.

I come from a really rough neighborhood. I bought a waterbed once and found a guy at the bottom of it.

This is the shot that I want to learn how to take. I look at this picture and yearn for your skills. Do you use a neutral density filter?

I really like this picture, at first i'd think the water was actually clouds (amazingly stupid, i think XD). Well, it's not the kind of photograph I would be able to take. Great job !
