Sunrise at Port Macquarie
I set the tripod again cursing that I don't have my 10-20mm wide sigma ( repairs), using the 18mm end of the kit lens and fired the shot not realising that I had the 10 second timer delay on.
In that 10 seconds the empty sea was filled with a catamaran! Blind luck! The stones lining the sea wall have all been painted up by tourists, obviously with the Councils blessing. Most of the tourists seem to be Irish ( Maybe they pack paint and brushes when they travel?

I like this shot and the clouds look pretty sweet. I think the bottom half of the photo lacks a slight bit of contrast in the highlights. It's just a bit flat

Absolute sweetness, I love it how you don't abuse
HDR when it doesn't need to be. Just using HDR
to enhance tonality is superb and brings out elements of an image to a higher degree ..

If I could fav this twice, I would!

cheers and keep them coming, I love your work.

Why thanx... I could tell from the raw file that a little bit of HDR would go a long way with this image!

Maybe... remember the sun had just risen but was behind those clouds so not a lot of light..... a curves adjust might lift it... I'll have a look

I sure do like the compo of this shot. It shows all the important things which I need to see in it. The lovlely graffiti and the resteless ocean. Nice mix of various shaped rocks and a troubled boat :) Amazing shot I must say.

I appreciate that.. its nice to have a few elements to compose into the one photo for a change!

great shot.

They have a similar kind of setup all along the beach / inlet up at Nambucca Heads - one of the caravan parks that our car club stays at when we do our big NSW/QLD meet has a large rock wall facing the ocean that tourists are allowed to paint - its a good 100-150 meters of rocks all painted by visitors and locals :)

Its a fun idea.. I'd never seen it before.. apart from the Peter Brock graffiti all over Mt Panorama.
