The first thing that strikes me is the lovely perspective. My eyes are drawn right to left across the image to the lovely plateau beyond the property. Even the gentle lines in the dirt of the front yard are pointing to the fields beyond.

The property with it's rusty browns, red brick and the orange soil in the foreground contrasts nicely with the dark blue-gray clouds adding real interest to the scene.

Finally the perfectly balanced exposure between sky above and land is completely spot-on. The shadows under the porch on the right of the building are not too dark, so you can still make out the details of the building.

I'd have to agree with *wilderBeest's critique... very nice exposure and blending, with some great ground and sky elements.

Some very nice dark areas along the side of the homestead and water-tank create some very interesting shadow dimensions (not true shadows, rather points of low luminosity, which contrast very well with the sun-burst).

Personally, I love the water-tank in and of itself, with a great round circular set of horizontal vectors (yes, more vectors, hush) which are disrupted by the vines and plant growth... man's mechanical attempts to harness the organic, being reclaimed by the biological. A fitting microcosm for the themes of the entire piece.
